The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) aims at making Tirumala a role model centre of pilgrimage with its Vision 2047 Mission, said TTD Executive Officer (EO) J Syamala Rao on Sunday.
Addressing the media at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, the EO said in alignment with “Swarna Andhra Vision 2047,” TTD has invited the proposals for “Tirumala Vision 2047”, a strategic initiative that focusses on planned development, environmental management, and heritage conservation in Tirumala.
The EO explained that the previous zonal planning in 2019 under the Tirumala Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Master Plan, based on 2017 data, no longer meets current requirements. Vision 2047 aims to revise this plan to accommodate present and future needs, with reputed agencies invited to develop transformative proposals for around 18 projects, he said.
The new initiatives include new footpaths, smart parking, link roads, subways, redevelopment of areas like Rambagicha and Balaji bus stands, and enhancing the base camp at Alipiri.
“We have achieved 10 per cent of our goals and are committed to further improvements,” the EO said, emphasizing the need for Urban Design guidelines to ensure constructions reflect Tirumala’s spiritual and aesthetic values.
TECHNOLOGY AND AUTOMATION
To improve accommodation, darshan services, and transparency, TTD planned to adopt automation, replacing manual operations. The EO also revealed plans to introduce AI chatbots for enhanced pilgrim services.
“The ultimate aim is to preserve Tirumala’s spiritual essence while leveraging technology to enrich the pilgrim experience for generations to come,” the EO said.
